An education department was struggling to understand why there were major differences between the performance of the department across the various regions that it operates in. It had spent a lot of time and money in developing a communication system between the regions but was still not getting the results they wanted.
RISE TRAINING was approached to come up with a solution to deal with this problem.
Process
Our first step was to put each head of the department on an INTRATERNSHIP. The subject leader was trained using our EXCHANGE training system whereby they were motivated to encourage the sharing of ideas and information between the various regions. The department noted that each region had had to modify their education delivery method to take their specific region into account. Managing an education system is very different between an urban and rural area. Rural areas have often been made to make do with what they have to get the job done.
The various suggestions were packaged into a formal programme
The next step was to roll this out to sub-regions and then to districts and ultimately to schools.
At the end of the programme, there were multiple INTRATERNSHIP programmes in place, with information received from schools having an impact on policy at the Departmental Level.
The result was
- The HEAD OF EDUCATION understood who their better-performing and change-fit administrators were
- The DEPARTMENT learned that smaller, remote schools had some of the best ideas when it came to implementing an educational policy
- The DEPARTMENT noticed an improvement in overall performance because individuals felt that their experiences and opinions were valued and accepted.
The investment in time was an hour a month during the teaching cycle with the INTRATERNSHIP lasting 18 months.
