There is approximately R12m worth of annual training in your organisation if you have 100 employees. All that needs to happen is to identify it, formalize it and manage it.
A financial services firm approached RISE BUSINESS CONTINUITY to assist them with their internal training. The re were two aspects to this request.
- The company wanted to ensure that the training their staff received was meaningful and adhered to their KNOW-HOW philosophy
- They wanted to make sure that the staff members took the training seriously
Our task was to create an INTRATERNSHIP (internal internship) programme that formalized the process. But the client wanted to derive more out of this INTRATERNSHIP programme, they wanted people to share their experiences of that type of training in the market place. This feeds right into the EMULATION LEADS TO INNOVATION principle that is the cornerstone of the RISE INTRATERNSHIP programme. We then inserted the RISE INTRATERNSHIP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM into the programme that allowed the various INTRATERNS to contribute to the intellectual property of the organisation. The collective knowledge has always been in the organisation, it’s just not been circulated.
It’s often not as simple as asking people to contribute to these sessions. Corporations are intimidating places. Many people are worried that their opinions might not be accepted. We trained the company using our EXCHANGE methodology to create an environment where people feel comfortable contributing to the various training sessions. It’s important to note that the INTRATERNSHIP sessions are attended by senior and junior employees. It’s a testament to the training that this was permitted. We are all trainers in our own way. It’s a matter of bringing it out in each situation.
There is a wealth of information in your organisation. Probably more than R12m measured in BEE terms. Ask us how to help you extract it.
